GIVIT this Christmas

Got a group of people and want to give back this festive season? Team up to give a little, help a million this Christmas! πŸŽ„
We won't beat around the bush. There are currently more people than ever reaching out to support services and organisations around Australia.

The good news is – you can help! And it doesn't take much. Whether you're part of group looking to lend a hand, or you're going it alone, it's so easy, and it makes such a big difference!

Christmas is the perfect time to give to Australians in need. And GIVIT is the smart way to give.

4 ways your group can help this Christmas πŸ‘‡

1. GIVIT Together πŸ€—
GIVIT Together is home to around 40 larger requests and projects from trusted charitable organisations. Depending on its size and set up, you may be able to donate individual items, or your company or group might 'claim' a project that hits home with your community. You can then either collect the requested items amongst your team, or raise funds towards purchasing the items. Some current GIVIT Together projects are below.

Household items for homeless accommodation
More than 100 vulnerable people have to be moved from short-term homeless accommodation into public housing by Christmas. The properties are unfurnished, and the incoming residents have no personal belongings. Donate your household items to help them feel at home.

Presents for kids spending Christmas in hospital
Brave children battling a variety of illnesses and injuries will be spending Christmas in this major Sydney children's hospital. Social workers are seeking donations of kid's toys to bring some festive spirit to the ward and its little battlers. The hospital is no place for Christmas!

Children's books for a community organisation's flooded toy room
This support organisation runs a live-in parenting and life skills program for dads at risk of receiving or maintaining custody of their kids due to homelessness. Their toy room was flooded in a storm. They need pre-loved or new kid's books!

A garden makeover for a youth residential mental health facility
This residential mental health program provides voluntary support to teenagers experiencing mental illness. They need donations of gardening supplies to transform their tired backyard into a beautiful, calming outdoor space that their residents can enjoy safely.

2. Donate funds πŸ’°
Just want to keep it simple? Great! Head to the link below and make a generous donation. Want to spice it up a bit? Hold a fundraiser for donations in your workplace or group, then select an appeal like Domestic and Family Violence, Indigenous Support or Drought Relief, and 100% of the money received will be used to purchase essential items for these appeals. Or choose 'where it is needed most,' and we'll use your donation to meet real, urgent need in the community.

3. Give items ♻️
Browse more than 20,000 items currently needed by organisations and charities supporting vulnerable Australians this Christmas. If you're in a group, your team can choose as few or as many items as you would like to donate. You could even fundraise as a team, then go 'shopping' on the Christmas Appeal page!

4. Support GIVIT's operations πŸ’š
Generous donations from our supporters ensures our service remains completely free to use for charitable organisations. This hugely important support also means that 100% of funds donated towards an appeal is spent on that appeal alone.
