NILS – No Interest Loan Scheme
The Ravenshoe Community Centre auspices the Ravenshoe Community Support NO INTEREST LOAN SCHEME (NILS) to residents in the Southern Tablelands townships of Ravenshoe, Milla Millaa, and areas to the west including Mt Garnet, Georgetown, Croydon, Forsayth & Mt Surprise areas who meet the eligibility requirements.
NILS provides individuals and families on low incomes access to safe, fair and affordable credit. NO FEES, NO CHARGES, NO INTEREST. NILS loans are generally available for the purchase of essential goods and service.

10 Years Celebrations… $ 1/2 million in loans
The RCC NILS program celebrated the 10th year of NILS in the community. With over $500 000 in loans during that period of time, low income individuals and families have been able to access essential goods and services.
The very first loan recipient in 2009, Francesca Magann, was presented with a Gift Certificate to The Barn. Francesca had received four loans, including her current one, during this time. Margy Corbett from The Barn was part of the celebration. Margy assisted with setting up the initial loan application process and was a member of the Loan Assessment Committee.
