Family Support Case Worker
Key Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced person to:
- Complete family intake and/or risk assessments, brief interventions and/or case coordination.
- Provide timely information and advice, onward referrals, practical assistance, emotional support and guidance to families who access the centre.
- Promote and maintain partnerships with local internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Family Support Program Manager.
- Participate in meetings, supervision and professional development as required.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures set out by Ravenshoe Community Centre Inc.
About the Position
The Family Support Caseworker will work as a member of the Ravenshoe Community Centre Inc (RCC) team to provide personalised support to families, identifying and addressing their unique needs, strengths and challenges, fostering positive parenting practices and promote family relationships and wellbeing.
Position Details
The position will be casual (covering extended leave), being offered is 22.5 hours per fortnight, being every Thursday and every second Friday, and is responsible to the Family Support Program Manager, Neighbourhood Centre Co-Ordinator and the RCC Management Committee.
The position is paid at a Level 4.1 under the SCHADS award.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Health, Education, Psychology, Social work, Early childhood, Social welfare or similar field.
- Must have a working with children (blue card).
- Must have an open drivers licence.

Community Support Worker – Monday Position
The RCC Community Support Program provides general information, support, advice and referral as well as personal and individual advocacy to groups and individuals in the Ravenshoe and surrounding areas. The Centre operates Monday to Friday from 8.30am β 3pm.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the position of Community Support Worker within this organisation.
About the Position
The position requires a person with effective communication skills in dealing with clients who may have personal, social or financial difficulties, as well as a high degree of judgement (ability to assess situations and draw conclusions), initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity to community and individual clients.
Other responsibilities of this position will involve:
- acting as liaison between clients and other agencies;
- allocating emergency relief funding;
- supervising and supporting volunteers;
- assisting clients with Centrelink equipment;
- performing general office tasks;
- attending staff meetings and staff development activities as required.
Position Details
The position will be casual (covering extended leave) being offered on Mondayβs, 1 day per week @ 6hrs per day (12 hours per pay fortnight), with capacity for more hours, in the Community and Individual Support Program) team. Pay scale as per the SCHCADS Industry Awards Level 3.1.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate 3 or equivalent in Community Services Work or willingness to obtain same
- Current First Aid or ability to obtain.
